On machine with the select course button, select REGULAR BASIC with a MEDIUM crust.
You may need to experiment with the settings to get the browning that way you like. We prefer the medium setting.
Also, tweaking the yeast and the water content if your loaves raise too much or not enough. This recipe is a result of over 30 loaf adjusments.
For a special treat, add
1 1/2 cups cran-raisins (or dried blueberries) and remove the granutalted sugar from the original recipe
to the bread pan. OR, mix 1 cup of one dried fruit and 1/2 cup of another dried fruit if you prefer a blend. The fruit is added after you dump the dry ingredients into the mixing pan. The machine has a feature that beeps at the point where you may add the fruit in the middle of the mixing cycle if you would like to do it that way. I prefer adding the fruit at the beginning.
NOTE: When adding the fruit, due to the high sugar content REMOVE the granulated sugar from the recipe. The dried fruit delivers all the sugar this recipe needs.
